  • Description
CEPGIST provides research, teaching and consulting to the community. It is structured into three R&D groups: WATERPROTECT - thermal water resources assessment and protection; DECASTONE - monument stone decay studies and geotechnical applications; ENVIGEO - environmental geochemistry.
  • Main Research Areas
Hydrogeology, groundwater quality, isotope hydrology, monument stone decay and conservation, environmental geochemistry, applied mineralogy and petrology.
  • Keywords
Hydrogeology, geofluids geochemistry, isotope hydrology, water-rock interaction, mining contamination, hydrogeochemistry, environmental geochemistry, pollutants transfer, health, built cultural heritage, durability of natural stones, causes and controls of decay, conservation.

Groups
            CEPGIST ENVIGEO DECASTONE WATERPROTECT
CEPGIST Laboratories (XRD, XRF, FT-IR, IC, AAS, TG/DTA, Optical Microscopy, Image Analysis, XR Microtomography, Mercury Intrusion Porosimetry, Climate Simulation Chamber)

CEPGIST also maintains a Museum of Mineralogy and Petrology, with an important collection associated with the mining activity, and an Earth Sciences Library, that offers a wide range of books and periodical publications to students and researchers.
